A Defined Cat Eye with Thoughtful Lash Layering

When Stephany came in for her lash appointment, she wanted a noticeable Cat Eye shape, but with an important everyday consideration: she wears glasses and didn’t want the extensions in the center touching her lenses. She naturally has healthy lashes growing in multiple layers, so our priority was creating noticeable fullness while keeping the design balanced and practical.
Working with Natural Lash Layers
Natural eyelashes grow in multiple layers, and each layer plays a role in how the finished extensions look.
For her Extra Full Set, I paid special attention to selecting individual lashes from different layers to create a fuller, more even lash line.
Rather than simply adding more extensions, I focused on maintaining a consistent direction and a balanced Cat Eye shape.
I chose a mix of individual extensions and lightweight fans rather than relying too heavily on fuller fans. This combination helped me distribute fullness more evenly across her natural lashes, creating a darker, more balanced lash line.
A Cat Eye That Works with Glasses
I used C curl extensions from 8–13mm, keeping the center at 10mm to help prevent the lashes from brushing against her glasses. The longer lengths were concentrated toward the outer corners to create the Cat Eye shape she wanted.
Because her eyes are sensitive, I was also careful with isolation and adhesive placement. She has continued choosing LED Gel Lash Extensions because, in her experience, they feel more comfortable than traditional lash extensions.
LED Gel doesn’t eliminate the possibility of irritation or allergic reactions, but her personal experience with the system has been positive.
The Result and What Matters to Me
The finished set gave her a darker, defined lash line with a noticeable Cat Eye shape, without making the center unnecessarily long.
Hearing that her extensions wore comfortably and lasted well is always rewarding. For me, thoughtful lash design is about more than the finished look—it’s about how the lashes fit into someone’s everyday life.
